Our School Mission
UNITY
In 2015, Pope Francis defined 'unity' when he said:
"To understand one another, and to grow in charity and truth, we need to pause, to accept and listen to one another. In this way, we already begin to experience unity. Unity grows along the way; it never stands still. Unity happens when we walk together."
At St. Patrick's, central to our whole school's being is unity: together, we are united as brothers and sisters in the faith, with Christ at the Centre. It is this sense of togetherness, where “communion with the Trinity, rendered possible by the encounter with Christ, unites persons with one other” (CCE, 2007) that makes our school distinct. And it is this unity that underpins our school Mission Statement.
MISSION STATEMENT
Our Mission Statement was thoughtfully created, together, to encapsulate the very essence of our kind and caring school; one that is rooted in Gospel Values; one that is epitomises Jesus' greatest commandment to: "Love one another. As I have loved you." (John 13).
OUR SCHOOL'S LIVING AND LEARNING STATEMENTS
The Catholic ethos of our school is rooted in our ‘Living and Learning Statements,’ which have been collaboratively developed by home, school, and parish. These statements reflect the qualities we strive to nurture in our children, guiding them in their personal and spiritual growth. Their purpose is to uphold and promote the gospel values and virtues of the Catholic Church in its mission. Each statement is linked to a Bible story or parable and scripture.
One such statement—‘Be loving in our actions and words and be confident in our strengths and abilities’—exemplifies this commitment. In partnership with our Parish priest, we have connected this statement to the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:27), using it as a foundation to encourage children to express love for their neighbour through both their words and actions.
This approach ensures that our school community remains deeply engaged with the teachings and values of the Church while fostering a compassionate and confident spirit in every child.
